The owner or operator of any place in which personal property referred to in this chapter has been stored by the police department shall, at least 15 days prior to the date of the police auction scheduled for his or her storage place or upon request of the police department, render to the police department an inventory of all property presently held. The inventory shall include the date of impound, license numbers, make, model and other descriptive information regarding the personal property.
